Academics at Rolla Christian Academy
Our desire is for students to have an openness to questions, encouragement to seek God’s Word & true books for answers, a Biblical perspective & opportunities to pray when desired; & for staff to take advantage of teachable moments,& teach creation science, accurate history, language arts, math, art, music, & Bible. Our staff will do our best to meet students at their level, & help them succeed at their own pace, with encouragement each step of the way, so that students become confident, learn how to learn, & love learning.
By having a grace-based teaching environment, but with known consequences for breaking known rules; there should be security, peace, & an opportunity to learn.
The day will begin with worship, prayer and a Bible lesson for everyone. Most or all ages will meet together for short not-too-long teachings on some subjects,followed by application assignments (some are hands on) that can be done individually at different levels. An assistant will be available to help students with their assignments or supervise learning centers – while the teacher leads students who are in similar levels in their math & language arts lessons. There will be opportunities to move around & go outside at times throughout the day. Students will bring their own lunches but we will have healthy snacks at least once a day.

Same as Kindergarten description. For all ages, hands on and movement time is a part of the agenda so that children can fulfill their need to be active; and being comfortable, just as adults also prefer, takes precedence over sitting still for long periods of time.

Music & The Arts
In addition to worship, we hope to teach about music and learn songs that will bless the children and are in keeping with our statement of faith. We also plan to give opportunities for students to create art on a regular basis as part of their daily assignments and more.
Faith
All subjects have faith integrated into their lessons, plus we plan to have a daily time of Bible, worship and prayer. Our statement of faith that is available on this website shows what passages we base those beliefs on. We will be sensitive to the fact that students may have some differences in their interpretation of the Bible, but hope to encourage the respect and unity God desires in spite of these.
